Produce a profusion of heavily scented flowers. Flower colors include white, yellow, peach, red, pink, purple and many shades of blue. There are day blooming and night blooming varieties available. Leaves tend to large with serrated edges. Some varieties are suited for small ponds though most prefer a large growing area. Most require 4+ hours of sun to flower well.

Fertilize monthly from early spring until late August. Used as an annual in colder areas.

Water depth is measured from the top of the soil to the water surface.

We use and recommend open weave plant baskets. The open weave design allows the plant roots to feed from the water as well as the soil. The basket should be lined with untreated burlap to prevent the soil from leaking into the water. Smooth pebbles placed on the soil surface discourages the fish from digging in the plants.
